Mace team joins forces with EDF in beach clean up

07/07/2010

On Green Britain Day 2010, a Mace team of nineteen travelled to Hinkley Point to join forces with client EDF Energy to clean the Somerset coastline.

The teams cleared a variety of junk including car tyres, fishing nets, plastic bottles, rubber ducks, a football and even a plastic dolls leg. During the course of the day, a whopping 50+ bags were removed from the beach making it a very worthwhile project.

Mace project director, David Reynolds said: "The day was a great success in aligning our sustainability values with those of our client, EDF Energy, which organises Green Britain Day, and resulted in a good team building exercise."

David Eccles, head of EDF Energy's Bridgewater office, and Alex Ramsay, head of the nuclear new build associated developments programme, closed the event with thanking the Mace team for their contribution to Green Britain Day.
